I'm working today. I didn't get enough time in over the weekend to get the files updated around here. My other half is going out of town today to a waste water management conference or something like that. It's always about the mining industry polluting the enviroment and his work is to try to stop that or learn how to fix it. He's good at what he does but he hates mining.
Tonight is the Boy's Blue and Gold Banquet for scouts and he baked a cake for it last night. The cake looks pretty scary. He and his dad did it and after it had finished baking they decided to put it in a container too small for it. It is wedged down into the container and looks as if it could pop out any second. Anyway, I guess I'm taking the "Boy" to his banquet and I am hoping he's okay with it since it's one of his "Dad things". His troop camped out over the weekend at a Civil War reenactment and froze their butts off but I think he would tell you it was fun anyway.
So, I have all six for a few days. Pray for me. I'm not very good at dealing with the fighting that goes on between all of them. When my girls were small I made them sit in the middle of the room and hug each other when I caught them fighting. They acted like I was torturing them but it always worked in the end. A's kids do not respond to this as well as H and K did and still do. Oh yeah, I still make H and K do it every now and again. They always end up laughing. A's kids pinch and try to hurt one another. I foresee early bedtimes if any fighting goes on in the next few days.
That's all for now. I found a lovely backing for last week's quilt top and a pretty green to add to Mom's apron strings as I did not have enough red check. I've found a flower pattern to applique to the quilt top that is fairly simple and pretty and I found some remnants with Cairn terriers on them and I am dying to make something pretty with them. All is well.

Just leaving a 'calling in card' more like a 'I've dropped in card' really and to say I enoy reading your posts and to thank you for visiting mine. If I lived anywhere near I'd be on hand to help with that gang you've got there!
Cathy - you are definitely not short of things to do. Wonder how they will get that cake out of its tin!
Like the sound of the quilt backing - I always think the backing is important because in my experience people always turn it over when they are looking at it.
Now I want to know what you are going to do with the cairn terriers!
I hate camping in March and April. We go to WV and stay at our Girl Scout camp there, so it's cold, there's no running water and there's a bear. :-) I'm glad he didn't come home from Boy Scout camp as an ice cube!
Oh bless you with all the kids. I'm here if you need to vent.
I'm anxious to see what you do with the doggie pattern.
ALL by your self! You have my sympathy! LOL I bet you have some great stories to post this week! hee he
