My New Clock!!!

I had a weird messy week. I had Cymbalta withdrawal today because I was stupid and forgot to take my meds and then this comes in the mail.

There is a story behind this clock or a clock just like it. I have wanted a clock like this for years and have looked for one forever but they were either overpriced or did not work. Al found this one. On Craig's List! A woman in Oregon saw his ad and contacted him. I now have the clock!!!!

The story... Every time we visited my great-grandmother, Momma Adkins, way back in the sixties, this clock was on her mantle. We were mesmerized with the clock. You see, the granny rocks and the fire glows and to little girls such as ourselves this was the best part of the visit other than the jelly mints in the candy dish. Tina, my sister, and I have been looking for years and only admitted to each other in the past year of our obsession of owning one. God only knows where the original object of desire is since my grand-mother, Mommaw Pack, was a pyromaniac and burned anything she wanted disposed of. Yeah, I have already admitted my family is crazy. Mommaw Pack is in a scary class all of her own.

I have the clock!!!! It needs a good clean up since I think it has dust from the 1950's when it was manufactured but I have it and Al is back on my sweetie list. AND...It keeps perfect time!

There is something so powerful about the clocks that we remember in our childhood and this one is magical. So glad that it came to live with you. I just want to thank you for all of the lovely comments you leave on my blog. I very much appreciate each and every one.
