Ugh.... Horror...

I liked ScareFest. It was fun. Kate and Hannah loved it. Kate said it was better than a day at Universal's theme park in Orlando and that's all I needed to hear. Now, I have to admit something. I have not seen a scary movie since "Alien". That's right, I am a chicken. So, I was a bit overwhelmed by the horror part of the convention. Lots of horror inspired items for sale that scared the crap out of me. Some of the things were down right sacrilege and I know God is watching those people a little closer than they would want to believe. There were famous actors, actresses, and writers there and I didn't know any of them except an actress from "E.T." who was also in "The Howling". I didn't see the "Howling" but she played the mother in "E.T." and she looked just the same. The girls knew everyone. How? I had no idea they had seen so many movies of that genre. They must be seeing the older films with their father. I had really thought they would be more into the paranormal part of the event but I was wrong.

Now, the important part of the day and the reason we stood in a line for nearly one hour and a half was "Ghost Adventures". We were in a long line and in a panic that they would close the line before we got to them. Just when we were about to give up, Zak comes out to the line filming us and promising to get us all in. The guys stayed past the cutoff time and were wonderful to everyone. All three of them were gorgeous and the girls were giddy by the time it was their turn. The guys hugged them and chatted and Kate smiled from ear to ear the rest of the day. Our next stop was with Chip Coffey and he was a sweetheart too. He's going to be in West Virginia next weekend at Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and Zak and the guys will be at the same place next month.
We walked around for hours before heading home to hangout with Poppaw and watch Al finish planting irises. We talked about taking in a movie or two at the drive-in but four horror movies were showing and I backed out. I'd had more than my share of horror for the day or perhaps year. I'm good until we go back to ScareFest next year.

I have to admit I had no idea it existed until this year but we had a good time and it's not often it's just us three.
